Tom Roberts

Sales & Installation Assistant

I believe the Green Energy push is the current challenge for all Americans. I believe that for the sake of our children and our planet, we must move towards environment-friendly energy solutions. I came on-board Fafco with this belief, and I am proud to be part of an organization which is helping to save the planet! I grew up dreaming with Captain Kirk and Star Trek, as well as The Jetsons, so working with a group offering cutting-edge solar technology turns some of that dream into reality!

At Fafco, I work part-time as a salesman and as an installation helper. My background is in computer science and computer repair. I graduated with honors from South Catholic High School in 1983 and was given the Top Writer award. I attended Northeastern University in Boston in 1983 on scholarship and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science in 1988. I worked for M.I.T. Laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for 5 years, and obtained a Masters in Science in Computer Science degree at Boston University in 1992. In 1993, I started a computer software company which designed Internet database solutions for Harvard University, Shriners Burns Hospital, and Tampa General Hospital; my company was one of the early adopters of Apple computer technology and we were the Apple Stores when none existed. By 2008, it was clear that the Apple Stores would replace the independent stores, so I closed my computer store and retired from the computer business after a successful 16 year run! I currently teach English and mathematics part-time as a Federal SES tutor and as a substitute teacher for Lee County.
